Wildfire alerts in Spain: where to find official information
For the latest information about a fire, start with the authority publishing its status and warnings. A dot on our map indicates thermal activity. It does not, on its own, confirm a wildfire or an evacuation order.
Choose the source that answers your question
- Civil Protection warnings: check the National Alert Network (RAN) map and the regional emergency service. Read the warning type and date.
- A particular fire's status: look for the regional authority's latest bulletin. Match the municipality, publication time and incident name.
- Weather-related fire danger: consult AEMET's fire danger forecast. A danger level does not mean a fire is currently burning.
- Satellite observations: use our hotspot map and list by province. The detection time records an observation by a satellite.
What is ES-Alert?
ES-Alert lets authorities send warnings through cell broadcast to compatible phones in an affected area. It is separate from this website. Civil Protection's official ES-Alert information explains compatibility and delivery.
An empty hotspot map does not cancel a warning you received. Follow the authorities' instructions. In an emergency, call 112.
Find information for the area you are visiting
Select your province to see available detections. Our regional pages for Andalusia, Catalonia, Castile and León and Galicia, among others, also link to regional sources.
When reading a Spanish bulletin, verify its municipality and timestamp before applying it to your location. A screenshot from yesterday, tomorrow's forecast and today's incident update answer different questions.
What this website provides
incendiohoy.es is an independent project. This guide points to official information; it is not a live feed of every ES-Alert message or evacuation order. Read our methodology, report an error, or learn how to interpret hotspots, FRP and confidence.
