Geography of Melilla
Melilla is an autonomous city on the North African coast, next to Cape Tres Forcas, in a flat and almost entirely urban setting. The climate is semi-arid Mediterranean, warm and dry. With virtually no woodland, its vegetation-fire risk is very low and limited to grassland and scattered scrub on the outskirts. Fun fact: Melilla has the second most important collection of Modernist architecture in Spain, after Barcelona, largely the work of the architect Enrique Nieto, a disciple of Gaudí.
