Geography of Guipúzcoa

Guipúzcoa is the smallest and most mountainous of the Basque provinces, a mosaic of green valleys that descend from the Aizkorri and Aralar ranges to the Cantabrian coast. The climate is oceanic, among the rainiest in Spain, keeping an intensely green landscape of beech, oak and pine plantations. Wildfire risk is low and limited to winter episodes with a warm, dry southerly wind. Fun fact: La Concha bay, in San Sebastián, is considered one of the most beautiful urban beaches in Europe.
