Geography of Toledo
Toledo is organised around the Tagus, which loops around the historic city in a deep meander, between the plains of La Sagra and La Mancha to the north and east and the Montes de Toledo to the south. The climate is continental, with hot, dry summers. The dehesas, Mediterranean scrub and pine woods of the Montes de Toledo concentrate the summer wildfire risk. Fun fact: Toledo, the city of three cultures —Christian, Muslim and Jewish— is a World Heritage ensemble perched above the Tagus gorge.
