Wildfires in Valencian Community
The Valencian Community has typically Mediterranean pine and scrub forests in inland Castellón, Valencia and Alicante, where the dry westerly wind (poniente) and high temperatures raise the risk in summer.
In August 2022 two of its largest recent fires took place: Bejís (Castellón) and Vall d'Ebo (Alicante).
Prevention and firefighting depend on the Generalitat Valenciana, with the Bombers Forestals, the provincial fire consortia and the coordination of 112 Comunitat Valenciana, which issues warnings and wildfire pre-emergency levels. On this page you can see today's satellite hotspots in the three provinces, each province's fire danger and links to official sources.
