Geography of Barcelona
The province of Barcelona reaches from the Mediterranean coast up to the Coastal and Pre-Coastal ranges, with massifs such as Montseny, Montserrat and Sant Llorenç del Munt. The climate is Mediterranean, mild on the coast. Aleppo-pine and holm-oak woods, very close to densely populated towns, create a dangerous wildland-urban interface that drives up summer wildfire risk. Fun fact: the serrated, conglomerate silhouette of Montserrat is one of the most emblematic mountains in Catalonia.
