Geography of Lugo

Lugo is the most inland and largest Galician province, with the Terra Chá plain, the Os Ancares and O Courel mountains to the east and a Cantabrian strip, A Mariña, to the north. The Miño crosses it from north to south. The climate is oceanic, colder and more continental in the mountainous interior. Oak and chestnut woods and eucalyptus and pine plantations sustain a notable wildfire risk in summer and autumn. Fun fact: the Roman wall of Lugo is the only one in the world that keeps its entire perimeter intact, a World Heritage Site.
